Margaret Cho--I'm The One That I Want A
By Kage Alan

I would hate to be on Margaret Cho's crap list because the woman has no fear about telling an audience how she really feels! Part autobiographical, part social commentary and all humorous, "I'm The One That I Want" is the definitive stage version of the book by the same title along with other insights and experiences that Margaret wants to share. The result often moves from deeply touching and extremely insightful to sidesplitting hysterical. The show was performed at The Warfield in San Francisco during her 1999/2000 tour. A special treat is finding out before the show that her parents are in attendance, especially since Margaret performs some impersonations of her mother on an answering machine. Despite their presence, it doesn't stop Margaret from saying what she wants in whatever form she chooses to say it. This really isn't for kids, but the adults will certainly enjoy it. "I'm The One That I Want" will leave you laughing, crying, exhausted and wanting to experience it all over again. Margaret Cho is a master of doing what she does best, living life and sharing those experiences for the benefit of those who will listen. Outstanding.
