Will & Grace (Season 2 Episodes 5-8) (Region 2 DVD
Review) - A- So, let’s catch up, shall we? Gay lawyer Will and best friend interior designer Grace no longer live together, but they do live just across the hall from each other. You know, that just solves all of their problems, right? Meanwhile, gay best friend Jack is still married to Karen’s maid, Rosario, and living in Karen’s huge house. All caught up? Good. “Who’s Mum Is It Anyway” marks the first appearance of Debbie Reynolds (“Mother”) as Grace’s famous Broadway mother. Unfortunately, mom has a bad habit of disagreeing with everything Grace does in life and has made it her personal mission to set her daughter up with eligible bachelors…until now anyway. Much to everyone’s surprise (not!), Jack and Rosario get a visit from Immigration Services because something just doesn’t set well with them. In “Das Boob”, a picture in the newspaper makes Grace’s endowments look much larger than they actually are. When an old object of her affection calls her up for a date, she relies on Karen to teach her the tricks of the trade and also where to find the new hydro-bra. Jack also learns that Will had relations with the love of his (Jack’s) life. “To Serve And Disinfect” finds Will out to prove to Jack that anybody can be a waiter, but when the clientele turn out to be other lawyers, is it as easy to serve the pompous as it first seemed? Much to Karen’s dismay, Grace finds out that somebody once starred in a naughty, naughty little dominatrix film. Embarrassing? Only for one person in particular. Thanksgiving comes to our happy little group in “Homo For The Holidays” when Jack’s mother is invited to the feast. Jack isn’t particularly happy, though, especially since he’s never told his mother that he’s gay. Just when you thought the cat was out of the bag, mom drops a little secret about Jack’s past of her own. |
